Table or view does not exist [message #343716]

When i try the following queries,

select * from database_properties;

select * from dba_tablespaces;

It throws an error msg. ORA-00942 table or view does not exist. Not only these queries. It throws the same error for most of the views.

WHy does it happen? Pls do reply...

I do not know which user you are logged in as;
but who ever it is, this schema does not have an object by the name of DBA_TABLESPACES

Thanks for replying.

I logged in as sysdba...

Let us ignore dba_tablespaces. Why does it throw the same error for databse_properties. The same error happens for most of the views.
