Hi,
can anybody please help me what is the default password for the SYS user in 10g.
As i know it was chane_on_install till 9i.But same is not working with 10g.

please help me out in this senario

It depends on how you create your database (manually or via dbca).
Anyway it does not matter, connect "/ as sysdba" and change it.

But we need to know the what is the default password for SYS like change_on_install before.

It's only for previous version (Oracle 8 ) not in 10g.

If you don't know SYS password. Re-create your password file.

There is no Default password for sys and system in 10g or later.
During database creation time oracle will prompt for the SYSTEM/SYS/SYSMAN/DBSNMP password.

If you are using dbca.

If you are using CREATE DATABASE there is still the default behaviour in 10g and 11g:
