I have 64G RAM on my linux box. I gave 60G RAM for oracle. My database size is about 10G. But swap space is too low like 2G. I have seen somewhere that allocating too much RAM memory for oracle can reduce performance.
How much is this true? and why?

you are using 60 GB RAM for a 10GB Db? Whats the purpose of this? Or is there a typo?
