Hi,
We have materialized views created with "refresh on demand" in our database. Our db is 10.1.0.5. But, the status for these materialized views in user_objects shows as "invalid". The status of 'compile_state' in user_mviews shows as "needs_compile". When I compile it manually, it becomes valid, and after sometime it restores back to the original state. They are getting refreshed normally, and the last_refresh_date shows the timing of refreshing.
Is it normal?
Wht would be the status of the materialized views (refresh on demand) in the user_objects in general?
Wht would be the status of "compile_state" for the above mviews in user_mviews in general?
Wht is the general behaviour of mat views?

i have observed the same. MVs switch between VALID and INVALID .i have not gone much detailed in to that.Pls post your findings if any
