I want to ask that after some days my database server refuse to login and clients are in hanging position. On inspection I saw that in enterprise manager it indicating for waiting for log switch.
I restart my server then it is ok. I also saw that there are every thing is file.
But what is the problem.(I am using in archivelog mode)
Pls help.

Most likely archive log or audit destination is full.

All online log needed archiving.
Current log#2 seq#1784 mem#0 : /data/redo/redo02.log.

1/ Do you have sufficient free space ?? (Archive log destination)

2/ How many users connecting your database ??

3/ Please provide the below details.

I completely check the problem is that at that moment both arc0 abd arc1 background processes are dead and my database is in hanging position saying "waiting for log switch".

Is it a bug in (9.2.0.4) and fixed in later like (9.2.0.Cool

I think it could also be that you are not actually in archive log more.

Do an archive log list

Dear
Database is in archive log mode. Because when restart it database is open normally and work properly and can be list archive log list.

Looks like you are just ignoring questions. Once again I will ask, then move on. Do an archive log list

It shows

mode = archivelog
destination = path
automatic archival = disabled
current = 3242432
next = 324324

U mean I have to set automatic_archival = true in my parameter file. Then it will work fine.
