I have an application which is trying to connect oracle 9i using .net 2008, it is giving an error - ORA-12571: TNS:packet writer failure, I am not getting this error always, 80% is connecting and passing data to Oracle perfectly. we tried the same data 9 times and 8 time it was successfull. failed once.
any one have any idea.

application is also trying to pass data from SQL serevr to Oracle using OPENQUERY statment. ( in different part of the code)... any body can help me on this

Are you claiming that none of the 43 threads gives you any clue?

How repeatable is this error?

I suspect the root cause is external to Oracle.
