I want to move the datafiles to another volume group. Currently the datafiles are located on (storagetek) SAN. I want to create a new volume group and move the datafiles to that new volume group. What steps i have to perform to avoid problems.

offline datafiles or tablespace (I prefer the latter)
move datafiles
online datafiles or tablespace

For steps 1 and 3, see ALTER DATABASE or ALTER TABLESPACE statement.
