Dear All:

We will be migrating one of our database to the prod status very soon. Mostly we monitor for the space usage by using tablespace storage alerts with crontab sending email.

We need all the help about the critical parameters for a prod database to be monitored. Please advise about the parameters, critical setting or any possible script for a 11G database.

Any help, advise, suggestion will be highly appreciated.

What is the maximum size you allow tablespace files to be?
For the fastest growing tablespace, how many days or weeks to fill up a new/empty datafile added to this tablespace?

DB parameters should essentially be static.

You need real time OS monitoring by NAGIOS or similar s/w
on critical resources of RAM, Disk, CPU & Network.

Grid control (install the agent only) will monitor with default thresholds.
