Hi,
i installed oracle 10g in linux and am facing the exception
ora 00371
not enough shared pool memory, should be atleast string bytes.

how to solve this even my init.ora file looks fine.where went wrong in this.

ORA-00371: not enough shared pool memory,
 should be atleast string bytes
Cause: Init.ora parameter shared_pool_size is too small
Action: Increase the parameter value

Are you sure you use init.ora and not spfile?
Post output of:
show parameter pfile
