our database is up and running, archive log destination is filled.
what will happen to the database?

Oracle VER.

Add more space on ur hard disk
or
remove unneccessary file from hard disk.

Database will appear to be "hanging" as stated fuyuncat.
Actually, database will cease to operate. An alert will be written to alertsid.log and all operations will be suspended.

Users cannot connect to the db server if archive log is full and database will hang.
so make sure your archive log filesystem is safe by removing previous or old archivelogs.
